Dr. Tiet is a practicing, licensed clinical psychologist, an educator, and a researcher. Clinically, he has worked with the Vietnamese, Chinese, and other Asian communities for over 30 years in various roles in the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, and the New York/Connecticut/New Jersey tri-state area. He served as a consulting clinical psychologist at the Hong Fook adult services centers in Oakland, CA for over 20 years. As an educator, he was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University, and a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry (affiliate) at Stanford University School of Medicine for 15 years. Currently, he is a Distinguished Professor in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program at the California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant International University where he has trained hundreds of clinical psychologists. His research expertise is in stress, trauma, addiction, resilience, and elderly care.
