She leads the Research Education Component at the UC Davis Alzheimer’s
Disease Center. Dr. Meyer received her PhD in social psychology and her
Masters in Advanced Study in Clinical Research at UC Davis. Her current
research interests include culturally appropriate dementia caregiving
interventions, social determinants of cognitive decline associated with
Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, and geographic disparities in
cognitive and mental health for older adults.
Dr. Meyer has a particular interest in reducing Alzheimer’s disease-related disparities for older adults and their family caregivers. She has been continuously funded by the National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer’s Association for her work on dementia caregiving.
